In those days Israel had no king; all the people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes. Judges 21:25 NLT
Thoughts for Today
During this period in Israel's history, the people were inconsistent in following God. With no central vision of God's laws and statutes, "all the people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes." The result? Social disorder sin.
We could use this same phrase to describe today's society. Masses of people are doing whatever seems right in their own eyes. "If it feels good, do it" has become a common mantra.
An "if it feels good, do it" attitude does not result in peace. It results in chaos, selfishness, strife, and all manner of sin. If our world is to find peace, it must turn to Yahweh-Shalom.
Lord, help me not to be ruled by my own desires and feelings. Help me to seek your will in every area of my life. Help me to choose what is right, not what feels good. In Jesus name

Knowing God My Father: Applying the Names of God to My Personal Life by Jimmy Ray Lee, D.Min. This curriculum is designed to help people strengthen their relationship with their heavenly Father by applying His names to their personal life. Along with helping Christians know God better, it can serve as an evangelistic tool by giving a true picture of God to people who may have a distorted view of Him because of an absent or abusive earthly father who did not or does not provide for them. This group can also help men who want to be better fathers. Note: This curriculum was written especially for small groups, and we encourage people to use it that way. However, it can also be used effectively as a personal study for individuals or couples.
