Today's Scripture
"The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure." (1 Corinthians 10:13 NLT)
Thoughts for Today
The Word of God is clear about obedience and how it relates to the Christian walk. Obedience is not optional. In a world that offers no authoritative truth, we must resolve to accept the Word of God as the authority in our life and determine to submit and obey even in the areas that make no sense. We must determine not to dance around the truth even though we may feel powerless in our ability to obey.
No matter what our sin struggles may be, we all have stumbling blocks. We need to identify those hurdles and remain alert to our personal danger zones. If we continually place ourselves in the way of temptation, we will find it difficult to walk in obedience.
Temptations may be triggered by particular people, places, activities, and more. Determine to avoid anything that can be a stumbling block.
Consider this …
The good news is that God not only calls us to obey—he also gives us the tools that will help us succeed.
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. (2 Peter 1:3-4 NLT)
Don't try to overcome struggles and walk in obedience on your own. Depend on Jesus. Trust in God's love, wisdom, and power. Keep your eyes on him. Desire above all else to please him . . . and he will make it possible.
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13 NLT)
Prayer
Father, thank you for being my loving Father. I want to love you through my obedience. Forgive my defiance and help me see things as they really are so I may walk in total obedience. You are holy, Lord. I ask for wisdom and power so I can become the person you created me to be. In Jesus' name . . .

Lessons Learned: Moving from Homosexuality to Holiness by Tammy Webb-Witholt. This group study offers biblical tools, along with an abundance of hope, to anyone struggling with homosexuality. It is also a great group for anyone desiring a deeper walk with God. Note: This curriculum was written especially for small groups, and we encourage people to use it that way. However, it can also be used effectively as a personal study.
We hope these devotions are a blessing to you and to others in your life. We are happy to provide them for you at no cost, but thought you might want to consider a donation to help our ministry with the expense involved. You can safely donate through our website . Thank you!
